So, Jeff Pu, this analyst from Haitong International Securities, dropped a note saying the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max could pack a whopping 12GB of RAM. 12GB! In an iPhone! That’s insane. My laptop doesn’t even have that much RAM. Now, I get it, iPhones are known for being crazy efficient with their hardware, but still… 12GB just seems like overkill.
But then again, maybe it’s not. Think about it: we’re doing more and more on our phones these days. Gaming, video editing, AR stuff – all these things are becoming increasingly demanding. Maybe Apple’s thinking ahead, preparing for a future where our phones are basically mini-computers. Who knows, maybe we’ll all be running full-blown Photoshop on our iPhones in a couple of years.
And it’s not just about the RAM. Pu also mentioned something about the Dynamic Island shrinking. I’ve gotta say, I wasn’t the biggest fan of the Dynamic Island when it first came out. It just seemed kinda gimmicky. But I’ve actually grown to like it. It’s pretty useful for notifications and multitasking. So, if Apple can make it even smaller and more discreet, I’m all for it.
