Okay, I’ll admit it. I’m a tab hoarder. I’ve definitely been guilty of having way too many tabs open at once, especially when I’m researching something. It’s like my brain goes into overdrive and I need to have every possible resource at my fingertips. But this story about a woman who had 7470 tabs open in Firefox for two years?! That’s next level! I mean, I can’t even imagine the chaos of trying to find anything in that mess. 🤯
What blows my mind is that she says her computer wasn’t even slowed down by all those tabs! Apparently, Firefox is pretty smart about how it uses memory and doesn’t actually load a website until you click on the tab. That’s amazing, because my laptop starts wheezing if I have more than like, 20 tabs open. 😩
But the most fascinating part of this story is the woman’s reason for keeping all those tabs open: nostalgia. She said she loved scrolling back through them and seeing what she was working on, learning about, or even just thinking about months ago. It’s like a digital time capsule of her life!
I kind of get it. Sometimes I’ll find an old tab that I forgot about and it’s like a little blast from the past. Maybe I should try being a bit more intentional about saving interesting tabs, though. Creating my own digital time capsule sounds kinda cool!
What about you? Are you a tab hoarder like me? What’s the most tabs you’ve ever had open at once? Let me know in the comments!
