I’ve been an avid iPad user for years. My trusty old iPad Air 2 has served me well, but it’s starting to show its age. So, naturally, I was pretty excited about the new iPad Pro announcement. Shiny new M2 chip? Yes, please! Gorgeous new design? Sign me up! But then I saw the prices… and my excitement plummeted faster than a lead balloon.

Apple, what are you doing? 8,999 yuan for the 11-inch base model? 19,999 yuan for the 13-inch with 2TB? Are you kidding me? I could buy a decent used car for that! It feels like Apple’s lost touch with reality. We’re in the middle of a global economic downturn, and they’re hiking prices like it’s going out of style.

And what’s with this whole storage shenanigans? You want the full power of the M2 chip? Then you better be prepared to shell out for the 1TB or 2TB models. Otherwise, you’re stuck with a neutered version with fewer CPU and GPU cores. It’s like they’re holding the full potential of the iPad hostage unless you pay a king’s ransom.

And don’t even get me started on the 20W charger. Seriously, Apple? In 2023? That’s just insulting. My phone charges faster than that! They’re touting this iPad as a productivity powerhouse, but then they saddle you with a charger that’ll have you tethered to the wall for hours.

I’m starting to think Apple’s forgotten who their customers are. It’s like they’re catering exclusively to the tech elite who think nothing of dropping a small fortune on the latest gadget. Meanwhile, the rest of us are left scratching our heads and wondering if we should just stick with our old devices for a few more years.

I’m disappointed, Apple. Really disappointed. You’ve turned what should have been an exciting launch into a frustrating reminder that maybe, just maybe, the magic’s gone. Maybe I’ll hold onto my old iPad for a little while longer… at least until Apple comes back down to Earth.
