You know, I’ve been hearing whispers about the vivo X100s coming out in May, and how it’s going to be the first phone to rock the new Dimensity 9300+ chipset. But for the longest time, we didn’t really know anything about this 9300+! Finally, MediaTek spilled the beans and announced that it’s launching on May 7th. What really caught my eye was their focus on AI. They’re making a huge deal about it, even calling the event “AI for Everything”. Sounds pretty exciting, right?

So, what’s the big deal with this 9300+? From what I’ve gathered, it’s basically a pumped-up version of the Dimensity 9300. We’re talking a Cortex-X4 core clocked at a blazing-fast 3.4GHz, with three more X4 cores humming along at 2.85GHz, and four A720 cores holding steady at 2.0GHz. It’s not just about raw CPU power though. Remember that “AI processing unit” in the 9300? You can bet they’ve given that a serious upgrade too.

But hold on, there’s more! Word on the street is that MediaTek is already hard at work on its next big thing: the Dimensity 9400. Apparently, it’s going to be built on TSMC’s 3nm process (N3E) and could be ready by the end of the year. They’re supposedly keeping most of the cores the same, but swapping out the main core for a Cortex-X5. Early benchmark tests are showing that the 9400 is outperforming the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 in both Geekbench and AnTuTu. And you can bet your bottom dollar that this beast is going to be an AI powerhouse too.

It seems like AI is the future of smartphones, and MediaTek is going all-in. I’m really curious to see how these new chipsets perform in the real world. Imagine the possibilities: smarter apps, lightning-fast responses, and maybe even features we haven’t even thought of yet. May 7th can’t come soon enough!
