I’ll admit, I’m a bit of a tech dinosaur. Smartphones never really appealed to me – too much going on, too distracting. So I stuck with my trusty old Nokia brick phone, the kind that could survive a nuclear apocalypse. Imagine my surprise when I heard about the new Nokia 200 series, especially the 235 4G! 4G on a feature phone? And the ability to watch YouTube Shorts? I was intrigued, to say the least.

Now, I wasn’t expecting a cinematic experience, but the idea of catching a quick funny clip or recipe while waiting for the bus was pretty appealing. So, I took the plunge. The first thing I noticed was the vibrant color – I went for the blue, a nice change from my usual gray brick. The classic T9 keypad felt comfortably familiar, a nice throwback to simpler times.

Setting up the 4G was a breeze, much easier than I expected. And then, the moment of truth – firing up YouTube Shorts. The 2.8-inch screen isn’t huge, of course, but it was perfectly adequate for these bite-sized videos. The colors were surprisingly good, and the videos played smoothly without any buffering hiccups. I found myself chuckling at silly pet videos and picking up neat cooking tips, all on this little phone that felt like a blast from the past.

Honestly, I didn’t think I’d use YouTube Shorts that much, but it’s become a fun little addition to my day. The Nokia 235 4G is a perfect example of how sometimes, less is more. It’s a phone that does what it needs to do, connects me to the world in a manageable way, and even throws in a bit of entertainment. Who knows, maybe this old tech dinosaur is finally ready to embrace the future, one YouTube Short at a time.
