You guys, I just saw this crazy leak about the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, and let me tell you, if this is true, our phones are about to become gaming monsters! So, this leak is coming from a pretty reliable source on Weibo, basically saying that the new Adreno GPU in the 8 Gen 4 is going to be a total beast when it comes to graphics. They’re saying it can even handle Genshin Impact, you know, that ridiculously demanding game everyone’s obsessed with, at native 1080p with smooth framerates!
Now, anyone who’s ever tried to play Genshin on their phone knows that’s a big deal. Even with my current phone, which has a supposedly high-end chipset, I have to play on lower settings to keep it from looking like a slideshow. I’m constantly tweaking the graphics settings, trying to find that sweet spot between decent visuals and playable framerates. It’s a struggle, let me tell you. So the thought of being able to crank it up to full 1080p and just enjoy the game without lag is pretty mind-blowing.
And the rumor mill’s churning about the release date too. Apparently, Qualcomm’s planning to launch the 8 Gen 4 earlier than expected, sometime in October. And you know what that means? New phones with this beastly chipset! They’re saying Xiaomi’s going to be the first out the gate with the Xiaomi 15, probably around mid-October. Then we can expect other brands like iQOO and OnePlus to follow suit with their own flagships.
I’m seriously hyped about this. Imagine being able to play Genshin on your phone with the same graphical fidelity as on a PC. That’s what this feels like. It’s like mobile gaming’s finally going to catch up to consoles and PC. I can’t wait to see the actual benchmarks and real-world tests when this thing finally launches. Fingers crossed it lives up to the hype!
