Okay, so I’m a big Sony fan. Always have been. I love their commitment to quality, their unique design language, and that they still care about things like headphone jacks. But these new leaks for the Xperia 1 VI and 10 VI… I don’t know, guys. The bezels! They’re HUGE!
I get it, Sony’s going for that classic, almost retro, “boxy” look. But in a world where every other phone is pushing for those sleek, edge-to-edge displays, Sony’s stubbornly clinging to these chunky frames. It’s almost like they’re *proud* of them!
Look, I’m all for bucking trends. But there’s a difference between being distinctive and being just plain outdated. These leaks have me worried that Sony’s focusing on the wrong things. They’re packing in the latest Snapdragon chips, bumping up the RAM, even giving the Xperia 1 VI a crazy 240Hz touch sampling rate. But then they slap on bezels that belong in 2018!
I know, I know, bezels aren’t everything. And hey, maybe the in-hand experience will be different. Maybe those thick borders will actually make the phone more comfortable to hold, especially for gaming. But right now, all I see are these massive bezels, and I can’t help but feel a bit let down.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m still excited for these phones. The Xperia 1 VI, with its rumored camera setup and that powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, could be a real beast. And the Xperia 10 VI, despite losing the telephoto lens, could be a great mid-range option.
But Sony, please, do something about those bezels! It’s 2023, not 2015. Slim those things down, and you’ll have some truly killer phones on your hands. Otherwise, you risk alienating fans like me who want cutting-edge tech *and* modern aesthetics.
