Now, before you go thinking we’re getting a tablet that doubles as a boombox, chances are some of those grills are for microphones or other techy stuff. But still, even if it’s just 8 speakers like some are saying, that’s insane! Imagine the kind of immersive soundscape this thing could create. Movie nights? Gaming sessions? Forget headphones, this tablet might be all you need.
And it’s not just about quantity, either. Huawei is known for packing some serious audio tech into their devices. Remember the Histen sound system on older MatePads? I’m hoping they’ve taken things even further with this new model. Maybe some Dolby Atmos support? One can dream…
Besides the speakers, the rumors are pointing to a 12-inch screen with a new and improved version of their PaperMatte display. That’s music to my eyes (pun intended!). I loved the PaperMatte tech on the MatePad 11. It felt so much easier on the eyes compared to regular glossy screens. If they’ve managed to make it even better, this could be the perfect tablet for reading and long browsing sessions.
Look, I’m not gonna lie, I’m already pretty hyped for this MatePad. Between the potential for amazing sound and the upgraded display, it’s shaping up to be a real winner. Hopefully, we’ll get more details at Huawei’s event on May 7th. I’m counting down the days!
