Guys, you won’t believe this! Assassin’s Creed Mirage is coming to iOS in June, and I am beyond hyped! I remember seeing the announcement at the iPhone 15 event last year, and I’ve been counting down the days ever since. Ubisoft originally said ‘early 2024,’ but June is close enough for me! The fact that this is the first mainline Assassin’s Creed game to hit mobile is just incredible. I mean, we’ve had spin-offs and side stories, but to get a full-fledged AC experience on my iPhone? That’s a game-changer.
I’ve always loved the Assassin’s Creed series, especially the older games with their focus on stealth and parkour. Mirage seems to be channeling that classic vibe, and I can’t wait to explore Baghdad and become a master assassin on the go. Ubisoft mentioned on LinkedIn that they’re working hard to make the touch controls feel intuitive and engaging, which is a huge relief. I’ve played mobile games with clunky controls, and it can really ruin the experience.
The fact that it’s free-to-play with in-app purchases is a bit of a double-edged sword. On one hand, it’s fantastic that more people will get to try out the game. On the other hand, I hope the in-app purchases aren’t too aggressive or pay-to-win. I’m totally fine with supporting the developers, but I want to enjoy the game on its own merits, you know?
The game’s already up on the App Store, but we have to wait until June 10th to download it. It’s killing me, but I guess it gives me time to clear some space on my phone. I’m also a bit bummed that it’s only going to be playable on iPhone 15 Pro models and iPads with the M1 chip or later. I’m rocking an older iPhone, so I might have to bite the bullet and upgrade if I want to experience Mirage in all its glory.
Overall, I’m absolutely stoked about Assassin’s Creed Mirage coming to iOS. It feels like a dream come true for a mobile gamer like me. June 10th can’t come soon enough!
