Okay, so you know how Xiaomi just dropped their new Xiaomi 14 lineup? The Xiaomi 14, Xiaomi 14 Pro, and Xiaomi 14 Ultra are all pretty amazing, don’t get me wrong. But there’s something about those big phones… sometimes I just want something a little more manageable, you know? Like, I love taking pictures, and I want a phone with a great camera, but I don’t want it to feel like I’m carrying around a brick in my pocket.
So when I saw those rumors about a Xiaomi 14 SE coming out, I was pretty excited. Apparently, it’s supposed to launch in India in June, and it might just be the perfect phone for me. This leak from yabhishekhd says it’ll be under 50,000 Indian Rupees, which is a pretty decent price. What got me really interested, though, is that this yabhishekhd person also said that the Indian Xiaomi 14 SE is basically the same as the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro that they released in China.
Now, the Civi 4 Pro is a pretty sweet phone. It has a 6.55 inch curved screen, which I’m a huge fan of. The Snapdragon 8s Gen3 processor means it’s no slouch when it comes to performance, and I can totally see myself editing photos and videos on the go with that kind of power. I mean, 50MP camera with Leica lenses? Sign me up! Plus, it has this AI model platform that’s supposed to be amazing for taking portraits. I’ve seen some of the shots people have taken with the Xiaomi 14 Ultra using that same tech, and they look insane!
And if it really is the same as the Civi 4 Pro, then the Xiaomi 14 SE is going to come with a 4700mAh battery and 67W fast charging. Honestly, with a phone this size, I bet the battery life is going to be amazing. Oh, and did I mention it’s supposed to come with HyperOS 1.0? I’m really curious to see what Xiaomi’s new operating system is all about.
It feels like the Xiaomi 14 SE might just be the perfect blend of size and performance. It has the flagship features I’m looking for, but in a more compact package. Fingers crossed that those rumors are true, because I’m already thinking about which color I’m going to get!
